Introduction

The Department of Economics places great emphasis on scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship, and academic competitions, with over 50% of students participating in related activities. In terms of student cultivation outcomes, students have won 8 international awards, 32 national awards, and 1 provincial/municipal award.

To enhance the level of practical education in student development, the discipline successfully established the "Economic Management Experimental Teaching Center" in 2025. The center includes the Financial Investment and Analysis Laboratory, FinTech and Innovation Laboratory, Intelligent Decision-Making and Analysis Laboratory, and Operations Management and Simulation Laboratory. Upon completion, the center provides a practical education platform for various disciplines, meeting teaching needs such as financial investment analysis, international finance research, securities investment trading, international trade simulation, digital business decision-making, and economic sandbox simulation. It also supports the research requirements of academic teams, offering hardware guarantees for tripartite research collaborations.

Additionally, the discipline encourages students to participate in faculty-led research projects, with the current proportion of students involved in innovation research projects under faculty guidance reaching 30%. Encouraged by the discipline, students actively participate in domestic and international innovation, entrepreneurship, and academic competitions, winning a total of 41 awards, of which 97.5% are at the international or national level.
