To enhance faculty research and teaching capabilities, the Economics Department of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University organized a series of teaching and research activities from July 1st to 3rd, focusing on the development of first-class disciplines and first-class programs for the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. The activities included a Master Teacher Workshop, faculty teaching experience exchange, a seminar on the development of the Fintech program, and a symposium on discipline development and scientific research. Experts and scholars such as Professor Han Botang from the School of Management at Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor Niu Baozhuang from South China University of Technology, Professor Xiao Shufang from the School of Management at Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor Zhang Lingxiang, Assistant Dean of the School of Economics, Professor Hao Yu, and Professor Zhang Bohui from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, as well as all faculty members of the Economics Department, participated in the series of activities to exchange teaching and research experiences.

During the Master Teacher Workshop, Professor Han Botang delivered an inspiring session on "Teaching Design and Classroom Organization," offering a masterclass in the art of teaching for the attending faculty and students. Han emphasized that teaching design should be student-centered and advocated for diverse teaching methods, such as goal-oriented teaching, problem-based learning, and case teaching, aimed at stimulating students' interest and enhancing teaching effectiveness. His vivid case analyses and practical insights not only improved the teaching skills of the faculty but also provoked deep reflections on the educational profession.

In the workshop, all faculty members of the Economics Department engaged in in-depth discussions on the courses for the International Economics and Trade and Fintech programs for the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. The faculty introduced their plans for course offerings, content, learning objectives, and teaching methods, while the invited experts provided valuable feedback on each course. This event not only fostered greater mutual understanding among the faculty but also laid a solid foundation for the department to build cohesive course teams and develop a high-level teaching team.
