On December 15, Shenzhen MSU-BIT University and the University of Bayreuth held a formal ceremony to sign a cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Li Hezhang, President of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University; Professor Sergey Shakhray, Vice President; Professor Yang Gang, Minister of Academic Affairs; Professor Yelena Arkhipova, Russian Director of the Economics Department; Professor Meng Fanchen, Chinese Director of the Economics Department; Professor Stefan Leible, President of the University of Bayreuth; Professor Reinhard Meckler, Chair of International Management at the Faculty of Law and Economics; and Dr. An Ming, Director of the International Exchange Office.
President Li Hezhang began the ceremony with a speech on behalf of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University. He introduced the university’s background, developmental positioning, and achievements in discipline development, talent cultivation, scientific research, and social service since its establishment. He noted that both Shenzhen, where Shenzhen MSU-BIT University is located, and Bavaria, where the University of Bayreuth is situated, are significant economic centers in their respective countries. He expressed confidence that the cooperation between the two universities would not only provide a platform for faculty and student exchanges but also contribute to the economic development and collaboration between the two countries.

Professor Stefan Leible delivered a speech on behalf of the University of Bayreuth. He highlighted the past achievements in talent cooperation with Beijing Institute of Technology and Moscow State University in the fields of economics and linguistics. He expressed pleasure at expanding the collaboration to include Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, noting that today's signing ceremony was highly significant. He was confident that the cooperation would lead to outstanding results in joint degree programs, overseas exchanges, summer visits, and faculty exchanges and collaboration.
Professor Reinhard Meckler from the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Bayreuth reflected on the past decade of collaboration with Professor Meng Fanchen in student exchanges, summer schools, and joint research. He expressed hope that the signing of this institutional agreement would further expand the scope of cooperation and contribute to talent cultivation and scientific research at both universities.

Vice President Sergey Shakhray introduced Moscow State University and its remarkable achievements in talent development. He expressed the hope that the collaboration with the University of Bayreuth would further promote academic exchange and the internationalization of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University.
At the end of the ceremony, representatives from both universities signed the cooperation agreement and took a commemorative group photo.
