Students from the SMBU Department of Economics Will Represent China in the Global Finals of The GMC International Business Management Challenge

发布时间:2026-02-12

Recently, at the 30th GMC International Business Management Challenge China Division competition, the team "No Other Way" from the Department of Economics at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University—comprising Li Zeyu, Tan Tianyu, Li Sihan, Fang Jialian, and Xiong Ruiqi—stood out after four months and five rounds of intense competition, winning the China Division championship with their rigorous business decision-making skills and efficient teamwork. The team will represent the China Division at the global finals in September this year, competing against outstanding teams from over 30 countries and regions worldwide for the highest honor. This marks another significant breakthrough for the university after its first qualification for the China Division finals in 2024.

The GMC International Business Management Challenge is a globally renowned business simulation competition that systematically evaluates participants' comprehensive decision-making abilities in strategic planning, marketing, financial management, and production operations through a highly realistic corporate operating environment. The competition emphasizes long-term strategic planning and dynamic environment adaptation, requiring participants to coordinate resources, optimize structures across multiple business cycles, and maximize corporate value in competitive scenarios.

This championship not only reflects the team's solid professional foundation and outstanding practical skills but also demonstrates the university's sustained efforts and systematic investment in cultivating economics and management talent. Shenzhen MSU-BIT University and its Department of Economics have always emphasized the integration of theory and practice, continuously improving curriculum systems, competition guidance mechanisms, and innovation practice platforms to create favorable conditions for students to participate in high-level academic competitions.

Moving forward, the university will continue to encourage students to actively engage in top-tier domestic and international competitions, expand practical training and global exchange opportunities, and provide students with broader development platforms, aiming to cultivate well-rounded talents with international perspectives, innovative spirit, and practical capabilities.

Acceptance Speech by "No Other Way" Team

"We are deeply honored to represent Shenzhen MSU-BIT University in winning the national championship at the GMC Business Management Challenge, making history for our school. Throughout the preparation, we immersed ourselves in research, refined our strategies through repeated iterations, grounded decisions in data, and navigated uncertainties with rationality—building our capabilities through countless rounds of simulations and reviews.

This journey would not have been possible without the strong support of our university and the Department of Economics. We are especially grateful to Professor Cao Yanming for her dedicated mentorship and expert guidance, which helped us stay on course and advance steadily at critical junctures. This honor belongs not only to our team but also to Shenzhen MSU-BIT.

Moving forward, we will continue to strive for excellence. We also hope more students will embrace challenges, scale new heights, and bring glory to our university!"
