Notice on Soliciting Topics for the 2023 Shenzhen MSU-BIT University School-level Scientific Research and Innovation Projects

发布时间:2023-03-22

To fully encourage students' enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity in participating in innovative research activities, foster students' innovative thinking and awareness, and enhance their innovation capabilities, the university aims to create a positive atmosphere for innovation education across the campus. We are now soliciting topics for school-level scientific research and innovation projects from faculty members of all departments at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University. Specific details are as follows:

1. Content of Topic Solicitation

The solicited topics should include the following information: topic title, academic discipline, research direction, research content, supervising teacher, contact information, and any specific requirements for students’ academic background.

2. Timeframe for Solicitation

From the release of this notice until the end of March 2023.

3. Principles of Topic Selection

  • Topics should actively encourage students across the university to engage in scientific research, promote creativity and innovation, and emphasize research-based learning centered on exploratory and innovative experiments.

  • Topics should consider the actual capabilities of our students, avoiding those that are too broad or complex and beyond students' research capacity.

  • The scope of the topics can include research projects needed by the government or enterprises, or research topics proposed by supervising teachers in areas such as scientific research, management, or teaching.

The completion period for the school-level scientific research and innovation projects is one year. Projects that are successfully completed may have the opportunity to be recommended for the Guangdong Province "Climbing Program" projects.

The Student Affairs Department will provide financial support based on the approved project topics and will organize evaluations and inspections as per the project timeline.

4. Relevant Arrangements and Requirements

Department counselors will act as contact persons, responsible for organizing and encouraging faculty members within their departments to submit topics and for overseeing the progress of related work.

All topic submissions must be completed using the "Shenzhen MSU-BIT University School-level Scientific Research and Innovation Project Topic Submission Form" and, after review and summary, submitted along with the "Shenzhen MSU-BIT University School-level Scientific Research and Innovation Project Topic Summary Form." These materials (Attachment 1 and Attachment 2) should be sent to the respective department counselors, who will then forward them as a package to the email: yanzq991026@outlook.com.

Departments are asked to prioritize the quality of topics, carefully organize the topic solicitation process for the 2023 school-level scientific research and innovation projects, and ensure both the quality and quantity of submissions.

Based on the collected topics, the Student Affairs Department will compile a "Student Research Project Topic Guide," which will be released to all students by late March.

Students will select and register for project topics based on the guide and their areas of interest. Following a mutual selection process, specific project titles, project leaders, and members will be determined. The project leader will then, under the guidance of the supervising teacher, complete the project proposal and submit it for approval.
