Biography
He was born in 1954 in the Kalinin (now Tver) region.
In 1976 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Economics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, having received the qualification of "economist, teacher of political economy", in 1979 – postgraduate study of the Faculty of Economics at the Department of History of National Economy and Economic Studies. In 1980 he received the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences (the topic of his thesis "Economic problems of the genesis of feudalism (in Romanized countries)", in 1998 – Doctor of Economics (the topic of his doctoral thesis "Modern foreign concepts of economic policy of the USSR in 1946 – 1985"). In 1988 he received the academic title of senior researcher, in 1991 – associate professor, in 2002 – professor. In 2003, he was elected a full member of the Academy of Economic Sciences and Entrepreneurship. In 2021, he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Professor of Moscow University".
He completed an internship abroad (University of Amsterdam /Netherlands/, Austrian Banker's College /Austria/, University of Maryland /USA/). Has practical experience in commercial banks.
Since 1979, he has been working at the Faculty of Economics, currently as a professor at the Department of History of National Economy and Economic Studies.

Lectures and seminars on the courses "History" and "History of Economics" in the framework of the bachelor's degree program.
Special courses for masters "Modern foreign historiography of the economic history of Russia" and "Theory and practice of financial stabilization (international and Russian experience)".
