Biography

Gao Huiying (b. September 1976), Ph.D., is an associate professor at the School of Management, Beijing Institute of Technology. During her doctoral studies from May 2002 to May 2003, she was sponsored by her university for an academic exchange at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. From July 2002 to April 2003, she participated in the integrated design and development of a content management system at ORTEC Software Technology Development and Consulting Company in Berlin, Germany, where she completed her doctoral dissertation titled "Research on Content Management Systems Based on Intelligent Clustering." After obtaining her Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology in August 2003, she joined the faculty. She was promoted to associate professor in 2010. Her research focuses on information system theory and methods, text mining, business intelligence and data analysis, e-commerce collaborative recommendation, healthcare behavior analysis, and enterprise digital transformation.

She serves as a council member of the 8th China Society of Information Economics, a member of the Systems Engineering Society of the Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economic Mathematics, and a member of the China Chapter of the Association for Information Systems. She also acts as a reviewer for several domestic and international journals, including *Journal of Information Systems*, *Internet Research*, and *Neural Computing and Applications*.

Her teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses: Management Information Systems, Information Systems Analysis and Design (taught in English); graduate courses: Research Methods in Information Systems; MBA courses: Management Information Systems; and professional master's courses: Project Quality Management. She has received the "Shunjiang Teaching Award" multiple times.

She has led or participated in over 20 research projects and was awarded the third prize for Defense Science and Technology Progress at the ministerial level in 2007. In November 2008 and October 2013, she conducted six-month academic visits to the AIFB Institute at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, and the Henley Business School’s Information Research Centre at the University of Reading, UK, respectively. She has published more than 40 academic papers in prominent domestic and international journals and conferences, including 5 indexed by SCI/SSCI, 2 by CSSCI, and over 20 by EI. She has co-authored one monograph, contributed to two textbooks, and participated in translating one textbook. The Chinese translation of the 9th edition of *Management Information Systems in the Information Age* was recognized as an outstanding graduate textbook by Beijing Institute of Technology.
