To strengthen the development of applied economics and enhance the academic research capabilities of young faculty, the Economics Department of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University hosted the "2025 Young Faculty Academic Forum and Research Workshop" from February 14th to 16th. As an annual academic event of the department, this forum focused on cutting-edge issues in the field of economics, including industrial economics, corporate innovation, market mechanisms, supply chain management, and financial market stability. Outstanding young scholars from Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, Beijing Institute of Technology, and South China University of Technology participated in the forum, sharing the latest research findings in related fields.
The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Professor Meng Fanchen, the Chinese Director of the Economics Department. Invited experts and scholars included Professor Niu Baozhuang from South China University of Technology, Professors Li Huiyun, Hao Yu, Zhang Lingxiang, and Drs. Ding Ruxi, Zhuo Xiaoyang, and Zhou You from Beijing Institute of Technology. Also in attendance were Mei Wenbo, the First Deputy Minister of the Research Affairs Department of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, Deputy Minister Kuang Yongzhen, and over 40 faculty members and students from the Economics Department.

The forum featured keynote presentations by young scholars from both within and outside the university. Dr. Ding Ruxi from the School of Management at Beijing Institute of Technology, drawing on her research in "large-scale intelligent decision-making and public opinion management," discussed how to build a high-quality research system in a rapidly changing academic environment and emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in academic innovation. Dr. Zhuo Xiaoyang from the School of Economics at Beijing Institute of Technology shared a new theoretical perspective in the field of financial risk management, focusing on the application of multiverse equivalent expectation measures in financial derivative pricing. Dr. Zhou You from the same school, based on his research on "climate change adaptation road investment evaluation," analyzed how to optimize road investments to enhance the sustainability and adaptability of infrastructure in the context of climate change. Dr. Yao Zhenyu from the Economics Department of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University shared insights on optimizing environmental policies through a novel free-form choice experiment, using the case of air environmental value assessment in the Pearl River Delta.

All young faculty members from the Economics Department of Shenzhen MSU-BIT University participated in the forum, exchanging their research work and achievements in various cutting-edge research directions such as digital economy, corporate social responsibility, financial market stability, and supply chain management. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on future research endeavors. The attending experts highly praised the research work of the young faculty and provided valuable suggestions on research topics, methodologies, result summarization, paper publication, and discipline development.
This forum provided a high-quality platform for academic exchange and collaboration among young faculty.
