WEN YALAN, female, Han Chinese, born on August 26, 2002, is a member of the Communist Youth League and an undergraduate student in the Economics Department at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, Class of 2020.
Diligence and Excellence
Leveraging the unique educational resources at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University, WEN YALAN has achieved excellent results in both language and professional studies. In her Russian language studies, she has approached each challenge with a meticulous and focused attitude, achieving scores of 98 and 96 in Basic Russian and Specialized Russian courses, respectively, and is able to communicate fluently with international faculty and students. Additionally, through her diligent self-study, she has also delved into English and German, earning IELTS 7 and DSD I certificates, showcasing her proficiency in four languages across Eurasia and a global perspective.

In her specialized coursework, WEN YALAN consistently maintains a meticulous approach to her studies, laying a solid foundation in economics. She achieved outstanding scores of 97 and 100 in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics courses, respectively, demonstrating her rigorous academic standards and determination. In February 2023, WEN YALAN received the CSC National Scholarship from the China Scholarship Council and participated in the “Promotion of International Cooperation Training Program between Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.” During her study visit, she explored Russia’s national conditions and cultural background, witnessing the rise of Russia’s economic development, which laid a foundation for enhancing her cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.
Passionate About Life and Committed to Service
Outside of academics, WEN YALAN maintains an enduring passion for life and an active exploration of opportunities. As a founding member of the student journalism team, she has frequently served as an editor for the official university WeChat account, working closely with various departments to produce reports on various events. She has also actively participated in UNICEF programs and volunteer activities, providing educational materials, recorders, and MP3 players to impoverished children in the Yunnan-Guizhou-Sichuan region, aiming to give children in mountainous areas opportunities to learn foreign languages, experience music, and broaden their worldviews. These experiences have deepened her appreciation for the kindness and beauty in the world and clarified her personal purpose and direction in life.
Looking Ahead: Faith and Drive
Currently, WEN YALAN has received an admission offer from Heidelberg University. In the short term, her research will focus on academic fields related to economic policies in the era of globalization. Long-term, she hopes to promote understanding and communication between different cultures through her efforts, transcending traditional “us versus them” thinking, and dedicating her life to humanitarian causes.
